TOP 5 WINES TO BRING TO YOUR HOLIDAY WORK PARTY

Gramona, “La Cuvee” Cava Brut | Catalonia, Spain

Female owned winery, check (wink at female boss). Tastes wayyyyy more expensive than it is, check (high five Mail guy). Pop this while perfecting “Dominick The Donkey” on the karoke maching while your work crush crowns you as the Sparkling Wine King. $26

Abbazia di Novacella, Kerner | Alto Adige, Italy

The King of the Crispy Whites. How many times have you asked yourself “I wish I could bring a delicious white wine to a dinner that was made by Augstinan Monks from an Abbey that was founded in the 12th century?” Welp, ask no further and brace yourself for an assault of compliments. Wine Spectator 2023 Top 100. $26

Novellum, Chardonnay | Roussillon, France

Been working for your boss, who you think may wear a toupee, for 10+ years and still don’t know what style of chardonnay they like? That is a ROUGH spot to be in. Fear not, this is the escape key. Novellum is the perfect in-between style with 30% of the wine aged in oak. Want to impress the boss further, let em know its also aged in Viognier as well and watch that rug get blown right off his head. (Only) $16

Routestock, Pinot Noir | Sonoma Coast, Italy

Classic Cali Pinot Noir right here. This one will divide the room…Pinot is usually a love/hate wine. Just make sure the people you don’t want to hang with are Cab lovers. Most wines of this ilk are twice the price. $28

Rocca di Frassinello, “Le Sughere” | Tuscany, Italy

If somehow the fancy label / name combo isn’t enough to make your in-laws think “I was wrong about him…” this juice will get them there. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot create an ideal silky smooth Super Tuscan. $32

Heitz, Cabernet Sauvignon | Napa Valley, Cali

Let that annoying guy, Mitch in Accounting, bring a bottle of Apothic Red then drop this bad boy right next to it. A top 10 cab we get here on the East Coast. Silky smooth, non corporate cab that will scream “promotion” in the VPs ears all night. $72

WINE

Catena, “White Clay” Semillon/Chenin Blanc White Blend ‘21

This blend would be very unique if it came from where these two grape varietals are from (France) but coming from Argentina this is definitely a unicorn flying a magic carpet heading to Narnia. Somehow it bridges the gap between Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay drinkers while not actually using either of those varietals. Impressive. Used at our Wine & Dine Argentina dinner and it was the hit of the night. From Mendoza, Argentina.

$30/bttl

Bonny Doon, “Le Cigare Orange,” Orange Wine ‘22

We were slightly hesitant to embrace the Orange wine movement but it is here and appears to be staying. So why not embrace it with one of the fearless pioneers of Cali wine, Bonny Doon’s Randall Graham. This is a blend of 4 different grapes that spent a good 10 days with the skins to create the orange color and damn tasty wine. From Central Coast, Cali.

$16/bttl

Margerum, “M5” Red Blend

Small but storied winery out of Santa Barbara, Cali. Owner and Winemaker Doug Margerum started making wines in 2001 and keeps getting better while remaining true to the vineyards and quality of his wines. The M5 refers to 5 different grapes in the blend all Rhone varietals (think Chateauneuf du Pape) that make up this juicy delicious party of a wine. #17 on Wine Spectators 2023 Top 100 wines. Tiny production, only 2,707cs made.

$34/bttl

SPIRITS

LunAzul Anejo

We ve had their Blanco on the shelves and our back bar since day 1 but we wanted to expand our anejo section and this fit the bill perfectly. Not as heavy as most in the category so this mixes well in cocktails. You are not going to find a better value anejo.

$34/750ml.

Citadelle “Jardin d’Ete” Gin

Our Premium Well Gin’s citrusy cousin. Flowers, Fruit & Herbs combine to make this a perfect warm weather gin that is incredibly fun to mix with (we use it in our Fresh 75 at our Island bar).

$38/Ltr

Old Elk, Bourbon

Whiskey OG Greg Metze is the Master Distiller of this up and coming producer out of Fort Collins, CO. Dangerously smooth, pairs well with fire pit hangouts and just got paid shots with the boys.

$68/750ml

Frost Beer Works, “Lush” Double IPA 8%

Rich & Juicy yet somehow easily (and dangerously) crushable. From Hinesburg, VT.

$18/4pk 16oz Cans.

Downeast Cider, Maple Waffle 5%
